To UK Camera Clubs
Dear Secretary,
We are writing to inform you of an exciting new competition for Garden Photographer of the Year. The competition has recently been launched and is open to all photographers, amateurs and professionals alike. A unique opportunity to win thousands of pounds worth of prizes and the chance for finalists to have their photographs displayed at purpose-built, outdoor exhibition amongst the botanical delights of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, London in the summer of 2008, with substantial press coverage.
There are no restrictions on the type of camera competitors’ use, or the techniques used to produce the final image. We are now calling for entries in the following categories;
My Garden
Garden Views
Plant Portrait
Life in the Garden
Trees
A panel of high-profile professionals will judge the competition and the winning images will be displayed at Kew Gardens from May to September 2008. For more information, details of how to enter, and inspiration please visit our website at www.gpoty.org
Camera Club Offer:
We currently have a fantastic offer open to UK Camera Clubs only. Enter by the 30th September and entrants will have the chance to win a free* lecture from leading professional photographer, Clive Nichols, for their camera club. Entrants should go to www.gpoty.org and follow the instructions to upload their pictures. They should enter the special promotional code, CCCN0907 when uploading their pictures in order to qualify.
When entering descriptive information about your shot, Camera Club members are encouraged to write brief details about their Camera Club.
All entries received on or before 30th September 2007 will be judged by Clive Nichols who will choose his personal favourite. The winner will receive a lecture from Clive Nichols for his/her Camera Club.
All photographs- including the winning image- entered in this offer will go forward to the main competition judging in the normal way.

*This offer covers Clive Nichols’ time, but the winning Camera Club will be asked to cover travel expenses to the club location, and if necessary, subsistence expenses.
